Warren police logs: Man arrested twice in two days


Monday, June 9

Caleb S. Rome, 25, of Bristol, was picked up on a bench warrant issued by Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Christopher A. Barbosa, 30, of Fall River, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order.

A caller told police that a person waiting at a bus stop on Main Street threw trash on the ground.

Someone called in a fight on Water Street, but police found nothing amiss.

A woman reported her cell phone stolen.

Tuesday, June 10

Someone complained at about 12:44 a.m. of a woman yelling while lying on the ground on Main Street. Police said there was no problem; she was waiting for the bus.

Wednesday, June 11

A taxi driver called police after a fare broke his window and left the car without paying. Police checked around Liberty and Main streets, where the man fled, but could not find him.

Justin W. Chiellini, 28, of 173 Water St., Apt. 1, was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant.

Online fraud was reported out of Stuart Street.

A Coomer Avenue girl called police after hearing a noise that frightened her. Police came out and found everything OK.

Police got a narcotics call on Hope Street just after 4:30 p.m. but instead arrested a juvenile, 16, with possession of alcohol.

A Market Street resident complained to police that kids were shooting hoops in his driveway.

Thursday, June 12

An Arlington Avenue resident reported a broken door and the possible theft of jewelry.

Police dispersed two people from a Main Street location and informed them of the town’s loitering ordinance.

Someone on Main Street reported the theft of clothes.

A caller reported a man sleeping on a bench on Miller Street. Police took him home.

Friday, June 13

Bristol police warned Warren officers of a reckless driver heading into town on Metacom Avenue. Officers never located the car.

Someone complained about a snapping turtle on Matthew Drive.

A caller reported a man with a pair of binoculars along Schoolhouse Road. By the time police arrived the man had left.

A Market Street woman reported a stolen cell phone.

Police pulled over an erratic/aggressive driver on Main Street just after 8:31 p.m. As a result, they charged Justin W. Chiellini, 28, of 173 Water St., Apt. 1, with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, BAC .15 or greater. Mr. Chiellini had also been arrested two days earlier on a bench warrant filed when he appeared to appear in Sixth Division District court on an open Warren charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. Also arrested in the stop was a passenger, Joshua P. Landskroner, 33, of 700 Metacom Ave., Apt. 126. Mr. Landskroner was arrested on a warrant for several Bristol charges including larceny and the fraudulent use of a credit card.
