The following building permits were recently approved by Warren Building Official William Nash Jr.

Eamon Lawless, 39 Cherry St. Strip and re-roof, install 23 vinyl replacement windows, $17,000.

Robert Cembrola, 26 Asylum Road. Re-shingle two dormers on back of house, $2,000.

Jeffrey Phillips, 180 Touisset Road. Strip and re-roof, $12,000.

John M. Costa, 3 Katie Drive. Strip and re-roof, $4,000.

Charles Vecoli, 69 Harris Ave. Construct one-story addition, interior and exterior renovations, $16,000.

Marc A. Proto, 7 Ridgeway Drive. Replace wood siding with vinyl, $12,000.

Edward C. Sampson Jr., 8 Paul Court. Strip and re-roof, $7,000.

Francis M. Monti, 12 Matthew Drive. Install replacement window, $5,000.

Peter L. Accardi, 614 Metacom Ave. Overlay roof, $3,000.

John E. Terra et al, 15 Long Wharf Drive. Vinyl siding on three sides of house, $5,000.

John Joseph Castro Jr., 35 Dyer St. Remove wood gutters and vinyl side house only, $6,000.

David J. Salamon, 54 Maple St. Finish two bedrooms on second level and add dormer; add bathroom, $20,000.

Kevin Pinheiro, 98 Arlington Ave. Strip and re-roof half of house only, $3,000.

Rocco V. Pagnano, 23 Kelly St. Shore up first floor, frame second floor and install new interior walls, Frame new stair case, insulate, drywall/plaster, renovate kitchen and baths, $40,000.

Susana A. Medeiros, 18 Pennsylvania Ave. Strip and re-roof, $3,000.

John F. Shireman, 5 Charity Drive. Frame new front porch and re-side front and one side of house with cedar shingles, $22,000.

John W. Diamond, 51 Maple St. Replace vinyl siding and sheeting with white cedar shingles on two sides of house, $3,000.

Rita A. Laroche, 22 Buffalo Ave. Strip three feet each side, roof over, $2,000.

840 Main St. LLC, 840 Main St. Second floor addition, interior renovations, $95,000.

Mary Jane Couper, 77 Water St. Install four vinyl replacement windows, $2,000.

Kimberly L. Palmieri, 593 Child St. Strip and re-roof and replace mildewed section, $7,000.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
