Vivian M. Craft, 98, East Providence

Vivian M. Craft, 98, of East Providence, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013. She was the wife of the late Captain Edward O. Craft of the East Providence Fire Department.

A daughter of the late George and Jennie (Brooks) Budlong, she was born in Cumberland on Oct. 27, 1914. Mrs. Craft was raised by her beloved aunt and uncle, Alma (Brooks) and Albert Darling. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Craft had no formal funeral services. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Evergreen House in East Providence for the loving care given to her. Arrangements were by Metro West Funeral Home, Framingham, Mass.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
