Town of Warren giving out free trees

Posted

Warren residents interested in planting a tree on their property can  receive a free tree from the Warren Tree Commission’s tree farm for  planting this fall.

To qualify for a free tree, property owners must attend a free  seminar the Tree Commission is holding on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10  a.m. in the senior center at Kickemuit Village, 20 Libby Lane. The seminar will provide information on the wide variety of trees   available, including the characteristics of each variety and where  and how to plant them. The varieties include Red Oak, River Birch,  Pin Oak, Red Maple and London Plane.

Coffee and refreshments will be served at the seminar, which the Tree  Commission is holding in collaboration with Tree Warden John Massed  and the Warren Department of Public Works. Property owners must have a suitable location on their property for  the variety of tree requested. Free delivery is available.
