Tough Kids Challenge returns to Westport June 4

Posted

For the third straight year, the Westport Elementary/Macomber Schoool Parent Teacher Organization has issued a Tough Kids Challenge.

This year’s challenge takes place Sunday, June 4 starting at 10 a.m. at the Westport Middle School, 400 Old County Road.

Participants will tackle a half-mile obstacle course designed for ages 4 and up. There will be the familiar hay bales to climb over, a tire pit to run through, a water slide, a mud crawl as well as new challenges.

Last year, over 800 participants gave it a try.

The WES-MAC PTO hosts the event to raise funds that will enhance the education available to the children of the Westport Community Schools. In the last year, money raised has helped fund community events, field trips, playground equipment, classroom supplies, school dances, and after-school programs.

Early registration (by June 1) is $15 and includes medals for all children at the finish line. Food is available for purchase. Registration after June 1 and day of event is $20.
