Tockwotton names additional employees at new East Providence location


EAST PROVIDENCE — To coincide with the opening of its new $50 million-plus location on the city waterfront, the Tockwotton elder care facility announced the addition of three employees.

Lisa Gardner RN, of Narragansett, has been named resident care director at Ms. Gardner will be responsible for the ongoing operations of the nursing program within Tockwotton’s assisted living community, a job that will include responsibility for recruitment, training and supervision of all nursing personnel.  She will report directly to the assisted living administrator.

Ms. Gardner brings more than 10 years of clinical experience to Tockwotton, including positions in rehab, assisted living and case management.  She holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Rhode Island and an RN diploma from Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital’s School of Nursing.  She is a licensed registered nurse and a licensed assisted living administrator.  Gardner also holds a certificate in interdisciplinary practice in geriatrics.

Anne Murphy, of Portsmouth, has been named Courtyard Program Director.  In this new position, Murphy will be reporting to the resident care director.

Ms. Murphy is responsible for providing leadership and coordination to the Courtyard Memory Care team, ensuring that their delivery of care reflects the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Ms. Murphy joins Tockwotton on the Waterfront with a decade of experience in the field of elder care.  Most recently, she served as community relations director at Albion Court and has also served at Benchmark Assisted Living, Sakonnet Bay Manor and at Benheim-Newport.  She is well acquainted with the needs of Rhode Island’s aging population and has a track record of accomplishments in the field.

Nicole M. Sheusi, of Bristol, has been named Director of Marketing. In this new position, Ms. Sheusi will report to the executive director and will be responsible for marketing, outreach and promotional lead generation for the new Tockwotton on the Waterfront.

Ms. Sheusi’s professional background includes tenure with Kindred Healthcare as a clinical liaison and sales director.  She also was a sales rep for Forest Pharmaceuticals and has worked in advertising sales for a wide array of magazines, including Yankee, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride and YM.

A native of Bristol, Ms. Sheusi is a graduate of the Moses Brown School and Rollins College.

The non-profit Tockwotton on the Waterfront ( offers assisted living and memory care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing care in East Providence.  Tockwotton on the Waterfront has distinguished itself by providing 156 private residences, a household model of care, and qualified, compassionate attention to the families it serves.  With an emphasis on helping seniors maintain their dignity, independence and right to self determination, Tockwotton on the Waterfront has been preserving quality of life for generations of seniors since 1856.
