Tiverton police: alleged bank robber arrested at Bliss Corners
Monday, Oct. 29
After his car struck a parked car near the intersection of Main and John Duggan Roads at 8:30 p.m., and after blowing 0.152 and 0.149 (nearly twice the legal limit, said police) on a breathalyzer test, Solomon Simpson, 21, of 170 John Duggan Road, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of — and driving while in possession of — marijuana, and three moving violations.
At 12 midnight, Leah Bordon-Baxter, 31, of Hollywood, Florida, was charged with domestic assault after she allegedly punched and scratched her victim.
Tuesday, Oct. 30
At 9:36 a.m., after staking out the Hess gas station at Bliss Corners, police took Shawn Martin, 28, of Westport, into custody, and charged him as a fugitive from justice under a Fall River arrest warrant for bank robbery, and charged a passenger in his car, Keith Cummings, 48, of Fall River, with obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duties after Mr. Cummings allegedly became obstructive.
Wednesday, Oct. 31
After she allegedly cut herself on her face, arms, and legs, and then told police her boyfriend did it, and after police confirmed that her boyfriend was asleep in his home in Ulster, New York, at the time of the alleged attack, Kymberlee Tormey, 22, of 19 Pocasset Avenue, Tiverton, was charged at 3:09 a.m. with the misdemeanor offense of making a false report of a crime.
Friday, Nov. 2
Bernard Edwards, 35, of Fall River, was charged with domestic assault and domestic larceny at 8:39 a.m. after he allegedly got in a fight with his wife, who was holding a nine month old infant in her arms, and took her cell phone away.
At 1:40 p.m., Mary Tripp, 23, of 646 Bulgarmarsh Road, Tiverton, was charged with domestic assault after she allegedly got in a fight with her stepson over a laptop.
