Tiverton girls tennis blanks Shea

TIVERTON — The Tiverton High School girls boosted their tennis record to 5-3 with a 7-0 whitewash of Shea in Pawtucket Tuesday.
Singles:
• Sam Rollings played Alyson Cohen and won 6-1, 6-1 • Chelsea Petit played Victoria Araujo and won 6-2, 6-0 • Victoria Davis played Ariel Davey and won 7-5, 6-1 • Courtney Toler played Arianna Davey and won 6-2, 6-0.
Doubles: • Allie Motta and Zaura Amaral played Maria Giraldo and Angelina Fang and won 6-2 6-3
• Mallorie Blake and Meaghan Reed played Estefania Clavijo and Amy Batista and won 6-0, 6-1 • Cosette Coston and Chrissana Roussel played Natasha Gaspar and Joceline Cante and won 6-1, 6-2.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
