Tiverton girls beat Bishop Connolly

TIVERTON — The Tiverton  girls basketball team beat a young Bishop Connolly team 44-12 Tuesday, pushing Tiverton to 2-1 so far this season. Sam Sando had a great night for Tiverton with 17 pts with Regan Burke providing a great second half spark and contributing 8 pts. Tiverton's next match-up is their first league contest this Thursday @ home vs. Central Falls.

Wilson, Jackie: 4 pts, 1 rebound

Higgenbottom, Haley: 4 pts, 4 assists, 3 rebounds
Burke, Regan: 8 pts, 2 rebounds
Masse, Emily: 5 pts

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
