Tiverton Christmas tree recycling begins

TIVERTON —The  Christmas tree recycling program in Tiverton has sprung to life again. During the weekdays of Jan. 7-11 and Jan. 14-18, Tiverton residents are being asked to place their discarded Christmas trees curbside, adjacent to their trash, on the same day as the normal trash collection, where they will be picked up by the town's Public Works Department.

The Christmas trees will be mulched by a chipper after collection, and the resultant mulch will be made available free to Tiverton residents at the entrance to the landfill, during normal operating hours.

Christmas trees not collected during the special collection periods may be dropped off at the Tiverton landfill on Main Road during normal landfill operating hours Tuesdays (7:15 a.m.-2:30 p.m.), Thursdays (7:15 a.m.-2:30 p.m.), and Saturdays (7:15 a.m.-3 p.m.).
