Tiverton bows to Rogers in Thanksgiving matchup
TIVERTON — The Tigers got off to a promising start Thanksgiving morning when Dylan Simmons sprinted into the end zone from 55 yards out.
But that's where the celebration ended as Rogers answered with 20 first quarter points en route to a 38-13 win on Tiverton's home field.
Most of the damage was done by Rogers' star running back Corey Jones who scored five touchdowns and rushed for 244 yards.
Andrew Murray rushed in from 15 yards out in the fourth quarter for Tiverton's second touchdown and Evan Nelson tacked on the extra point.
Tiverton wraps up its season with a 3-5 division record (3-8) overall. Rogers went 4-4 in its division, 6-6 overall.
