PORTSMOUTH — The R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) is considering an application to build and maintain a three-acre oyster farm in the Sakonnet River.

The proposal, by Daniel Torre and Max Davidson of Narragansett, would use floating gear consisting of 2x3-foot floating bags, according to the application.

The oyster farm would be located between McCorrie Point and Sandy Point.

Members of the public may request a hearing on the application. Objectors must attend the hearing and give sworn testimony when one is scheduled, according to CRMC.

To request a hearing, write to the CRMC, Oliver H. Stedman Government Center, 4808 Tower Hill Road, Suite 3, Wakefield, RI 02879-1900. Include your mailing address, e-mail address and contact number.

All requests must be received at the CRMC office by Nov. 1.
