Third annual East Providence Rec Department 'Winterfest' lights up

EAST PROVIDENCE — The third annual East Providence Recreation Department “Winterfest” came alive Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Senior Center grounds located on Waterman Avenue. Dozens of trees sponsored by city businesses and families dot the walkway in the Senior Center courtyard. Santa Claus arrived to light the winter landscape of trees that will remain illuminated each evening from 5-9 p.m. through January 5.
The night also featured a concert by the Swinglane Orchestra with East Providence vocalist Carroll Venable sponsored by Heritage Days Inc. Additionally a variety of arts and crafts vendors, food, beverages and baked items from Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen were served. Children’s activities included treats and photos with Santa as well as ornament making.
