Theresa M. Zink, 82, Westport


Theresa M. (Grady) Zink, 82, of Westport, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at Autumn Glen in Dartmouth after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Leo J. Zink. The daughter of the late Patrick and Annie (Murphy) Grady, Mrs. Zink was born in Boston after her parents had immigrated to the United States from Ireland. She lived in Randolph prior to moving to Westport over 15 years ago.

Mrs. Zink was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Westport, enjoyed traveling with her sister and will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Pontolilo and her husband Brianof >Westport; her son, Joseph L. Zink and his wife Heather of Needham, Mass.; one sister, Josephine Bransfield of New Hampshire; six grandchildren: Thomas, Kady, Grady, Shannon, William and Griffin and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Zink was the sister of the late John J. Grady.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
