Theresa M. Bouchard, 85, Fall River


Theresa M. (Bartlett) Bouchard, 85, of Fall River, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Roland Soucy and Lionel Bouchard.

Born in Jewett City, Conn., the daughter of the late Arthur and Regina (Clairmont) Bartlett, she graduated from the former Kenyon Campbell Business School in New Bedford. Theresa then worked as a secretary for the American Cancer Society in Fall River for many years. She was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Fall River and a CCD teacher at the former Saint Louis King Church in Fall River. A member of the Fellowship of Saint Anne, she was an avid ballroom dancer and liked to read. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Mrs. Bouchard leaves two daughters, Patricia Lawrence and her husband Fred of Warren, and Claudette Holt and her husband Herb of Fall River; a son, Roland T. Soucy and his wife Cathy of Fall River; three grandchildren, Nicole, James and Andrew; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Thomas, Hailey, Jillian and Sean; two sisters, Rita Berube of New Bedford and Florence Pragana of Swansea; a brother, Arthur Bartlett of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Eva Michell, Blanche Soucy, and Louis and Norman Bartlett.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the home of her daughter, Claudette Holt, 595 New Boston Road, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.

Memorial donations may be made to the Honduras Mission, John Paul II Scholarships c/o Propagation of the Faith Office, 106 Illinois St., New Bedford, MA 02745. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center for their devoted care and attention they provided to Theresa.
