There's a used book sale in Barrington this weekend

The Friends of Barrington Library will host a book sale at the senior center Friday through Sunday, Nov. 1 to 3.

On Friday, there will be a benefit preview event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. From 6:30 to 7:30 the admission fee is $20. From 7:30 to 9 the admission fee is $10 or free for Friends of the Library members.

On Saturday, the sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, the sale is from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free on Saturday and Sunday.

The sale will feature thousands of books for all ages in a wide variety of categories — fiction, nonfiction, out-of-print titles and audio-visual materials. For more information call 247-1920.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
