The polls are open in Warren

Posted

If you live in Warren, you don't have to wait until Tuesday to vote. There's an important referendum occurring Monday, too.

Though general election voting won't occur until Tuesday, voters today are deciding whether or not to approve the sale of the Main Street School to the Hope & Main kitchen incubator project for $125,000. Voters overwhelmingly approved of the sale at a special financial town meeting held last month, and today's vote will be the final say on the matter.

If voters approve the sale, the old school will be turned into the state's first kitchen incubator, a jobs-generating project funded with a $3 million loan from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Monday's voting runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Warren Town Hall.
