The collaborative presents a night of seasonal stories

Posted

The Collaborative announces a storytelling night, "Cheers: a night of seasonal stories". The night will be hosted by Jeff Danielian, a celebrated Rhode Island educator and writer, who also hosts the Collaborative’s monthly poetry and prose night, Words at the Fort. The storytellers of the night will include many of Rhode Island’s most talented writers, sharing original stories or their favorite classics. Readers will include Bobby Forand, Cynthia Holt, Guy Benoit, Eric Mancini, Elwood Donnelly and Aubrey Atwater, all of which are published authors in various genres. When asked if this is a kid-friendly event, Danielian responded “We put no limitations or censorship on the art in our gallery and that follows for the various events we put on. So, I would say ‘we’ll let the storytellers do what they do!’”

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
