The ChoruS of East Providence anounces latest board members

EAST PROVIDENCE — The ChoruS of East Providence is a diverse, intergenerational, non-auditioned group of people who love to sing. Its mission is to educate members and the public about music and choral singing while fostering an appreciation of music by all, enhancing the cultural life of the community.

The Chorus of East Providence was incorporated as a Rhode Island non-profit organization in September 2007 and is now designated as a 501(c)(3) status organization.

The ChoruS is led by its Board of Directors and operates in accordance with its Bylaws. The ChoruS of East Providence has elected a new slate of officers for the 2013-2014 musical season including:

Sandra Medeiros - Vice President

Judith Antonio -Secretary

Maureen Conroy- President

Phil Abbatomarco- Treasurer

ChoruS summer performances include the opening celebration of Saint Martha's Heritage Days Friday night, June 21, at 7 p.m. and the singing of the National Anthem Friday, June 28, at 7:05 p.m. at the Paw Sox's game in Pawtucket .

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
