Sylvia Crepeau, 84, Tiverton

Sylvia (Greene) Crepeau, 84, of Providence, formerly of Tiverton, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Leonidas Crepeau.

Sylvia was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John and Amy (Wordell) Greene. She was a secretary at Tiverton High School and enjoyed spending time with her students.

Sylvia was a member of the Tiverton Senior Center, Tiverton Booster Club, Tiverton High School Athletic Director and Drama Club.

Sylvia is survived by four sons, Leonidas John Crepeau and his late wife Kim of Colorado, Kevin Joseph Crepeau of Fall River, David Michael Crepeau of Tiverton and Keith Edward Crepeau of Westport; two daughters, Kathleen Jean Camara and her husband Paul of Tiverton and Joan Elaine Giard and her husband Douglas of Bourne , Mass. She was a sister to Mary Dearnely and late husband Ernie of Somerset, grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 24, and leaves several nieces and nephews. She also was the sister to the late Cynthia Rotsko and her husband Alex of Boxford, Mass.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
