Stompin' for Strings: a traditional New England barn dance

This engaging and spirited annual event will feature musicians Atwater-Donnelly and Cathy Clasper-Torch; and caller Elwood Donnelly will teach the steps. Guests will enjoy appetizers from Russell Morin, homemade desserts, and exciting raffle prizes, while learning Virginia reels, circle dances, square and contra dances from the colonial period to the present. Cash bar. Proceeds will go towards providing free or subsidized string lessons and instruments to underserved students through the Community Strings Project.

WHERE: The Barn at historic Mt. Hope Farm, 250 Metacom Ave., Bristol
