'Some Like It Hot' in Barrington

Posted

Join librarian and film enthusiast Doug Swiszcz for A Slice of Lemmon: A Summer Matinee Movie Series, that celebrates a handful of the comedies of Jack Lemmon. "Some Like It Hot" will be shown next Wednesday. Directed by Billy Wilder, the 1959 film centers on two late 1920s Chicago musicians (Lemmon and Tony Curtis) who witness a gangland slaying and then try to hide from the mobsters by disguising themselves as women.  A project that allowed Lemmon to tap into his gifts as a farceur, the unrated movie is in black and white, and runs for 2 hours.
