Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise coming to iOS

City Interactive revealed that a new addition to the Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise is in development for iOS. Due for release in the first quarter of 2012, Sniper: Ghost Warrior for  iPad, iPhone and  iPod Touch will translate all the intense long-range precision gameplay of its console counterpart to tablet and mobile.

 

Currently in development at Vivid Games, based in Bydgoszcz in Poland, Sniper: Ghost Warrior for  iOS will be built on Unreal Engine3 from Epic Games Inc. The project will make use of the Apple device’s unique control interface to bring handheld gamers even closer to the feeling of being an elite and unseen military marksman.

 

City Interactive’s Global PR & Marketing Manager Jonathan Goddard said: “Sniper: Ghost Warrior” has proven to be a huge commercial success and we have high hopes for its sequel on console and PC, which is due for release early next year. This new project is being developed from the ground up specifically for iOS devices, which we feel are perfectly suited to the crafting of a truly great sniping experience.”

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, developed by City Interactive’s own Warsaw studio and set for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in the first quarter of 2012, takes the bulls-eye precision of its best-selling predecessor to new and exciting heights. Powered by cutting-edge technology, the missions of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 are graphically stunning and more challenging as you once again step into the Ghillie suit of a special ops sniper to take down the enemy.
