Seekonk Police investigate robbery of Webster Bank branch


SEEKONK — Seekonk Police are seeking information about the identity and possible whereabouts of a suspect linked to the robbery of a Webster Bank branch in the northern section of the town earlier Thursday morning, March 27.

According to SPD Chief Craig Mace, at about 9:10 a.m, Seekonk Police were notified the Webster Bank, 1519 Newman Ave., in the "Bakers Corner" area was robbed by an individual.

A note was passed to perpetrate the robbery. No weapon was displayed. The suspect was described as a white male, age 20 to 30, about 5’11” tall, medium build, 180-200 pounds, with brown hair, and an unshaven face.

The suspect was wearing a dark knit hat under a gray hooded sweatshirt and medium-colored pants. He was also wearing gold-rimmed sunglasses. The suspect fled on foot and entered a white pick-up truck. The truck was operated by a white male. The truck left the area in an unknown direction. An unknown amount of cash was taken.

Persons who may have witnessed the robbery or saw the suspect(s) fleeing are asked to call Seekonk Police Detectives at 508-336-7027.

Additionally, the public is asked to view the attached images and contact the Seekonk Police Department Detective Division if the suspect is recognized.
