Mrs. Sarah (Pirri) Almeida, age 83, of 2 Cedar Drive, Bristol, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Almeida, her husband of 59 years who died in 2009.

Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Iervolino) Pirri. Sarah was the founder and operator, along with her late husband, of Gil's Television and Appliances of Bristol for 36 years, retiring in 1996 when she and her husband turned the business over to their two daughters, Lisa and Gail.

Sarah had previously worked as a hairdresser for Louis' of Newport for several years.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Sienkiewicz and her husband Frank, Gail Parella and her husband Joseph, five grandchildren, Sarah and Alex Sienkiewicz, Peter, Joseph and Matthew Parella, all of Bristol, four sisters, Anna Benevides of Bristol, Concetta "Connie" Ouellette of Cape Coral, Flor., Caroline Silva and Mary Silva, both of Bristol.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Achille "Archie" and Henry Pirri.

Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church,141 State Street, Bristol.

Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 223, Bristol, RI 02809.
