Sarah J. Delano, 26, of Bristol, Conn.


Sarah J. Delano, 26, of Bristol, Conn., died from injuries received from a car accident in Pawcatuck, Conn., Monday, Dec. 9, 2013.

Born Oct. 12, 1987 in Bristol, Conn., she was a daughter of James and Chris (Charette) Delano and fiancée to Derek Bisbano of Bristol, R.I.

Sarah was an Aquarist at Mystic Aquarium. She was also a certified diver and used her diving skills at the aquarium and in the open ocean. She also worked at Coach in the Mohegan Sun Casino and in the summers, she lent her time to Atlas Fireworks as a Pyrotechnician, helping to set up firework displays around the state.

Sarah loved life as she enjoyed traveling, cruises, snowboarding and riding her quad. She also loved her family and friends immensely.

Sarah leaves her fiancé Derek Bisbano; her parents James and Chris (Charette) Delano of Bristol, Conn.; her sister Megan Delano of Boston, Mass.; her paternal grandmother Pauline Delano and maternal grandmother Louella Charette.

Sarah’s funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church, 99 Summer St, Bristol, Conn.

Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, Conn.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Sarah Delano Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Mystic Aquarium, 55 Coogan Blvd., Mystic, CT 06255.
