Rose Marie Galluzzo, 102, Warren


Rose Marie (DeCrescenzo) Galluzzo, 102, of Laurel Lane, Warren, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at the Grand Islander Nursing Home in Middletown.  She was the wife of the late Louis Galluzzo.

Born and raised in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Anna (Montura) DeCrescenzo.  Rose was a resident of Warren for most of her life.  She was an assembly line worker for 30 years for the former Crown Fastner Co. in Warren, retiring in 1960.  She previously worked at the former Collins and Aikman Co. in Bristol.  She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Bay Church, Warren and a former member of the Warren Town Democratic Committee.

Mrs. Galluzzo leaves two daughters, Marie R. Raposo and her husband Gilbert of Henderson, NV and Barbara F. Durfee and her husband Elliott of Fall River; six grandchildren, Patrick Swist (Sharon) of Warren, David Swist (Kristin) of Marlborough, MA, Jen Durfee of West Warwick, Matthew Durfee of Bristol, Robert Raposo (Lynn) of Richmond and Cheryl Perna (Phillip) of Henderson, NV; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jaime Raposo, Julianne and Jeremy Perna and Zachary Swist.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Vincent "Charlie," Anthony and Daniel DeCrescenzo; and a sister, Theresa Soignoli.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12 from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Monday morning only from 9 to 10 a.m.
