Ronald Kolarik, 68, Warren

Ronald Kolarik, 68, of Redwood Court, Warren, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was the beloved husband of Denise (Giguere) Kolarik.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Stephen and Amelia (Romanski) Kolarik, he had been a field engineer for Eastman Kodak for many years before retiring in 1990. He had been a member of the Bristol Yacht Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Stephen Kolarik of Anderson, S.C.; and two nieces, Ashley and Hillary Grunberg.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. A Mass of Christian burial for he and his sister-in-law, Louise Grunberg, follows at 10 a.m. in St Mary of the Bay Church, Main Street, Warren. Burial for both will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
