Rodrigues invites residents to discuss transit issues

State Senator Michael Rodrigues (Westport) invites constituents to the next event in his "Bringing Beacon Hill to the South Coast" series.

On Monday, March 4, Massachusetts Department of Transportation Secretary Richard Davey will visit to offer insight into the 21st Century Infrastructure Plan for the Commonwealth. Secretary Davey will discuss statewide transportation and infrastructure plans, including the South Coast Rail project.

This forum is an opportunity for South Coast residents to get information, ask questions, and provide feedback to Secretary Davey and other officials from the Department of Transportation.

"I encourage you to participate in this event; your input is key to making infrastructure plans work for the Bay State, and specifically the South Coast," Senator Rodrigues said.

The event will be from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Advanced Technology and Management Center (ATMC), 151 Martine St., Fall River.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
