Robert L. Thornsbury, 82, of Tiverton, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at the Grand Islander Center in Middletown, RI. He was the husband of the late Constance (Wilbur) Thornsbury.
Born in Litwar, WV, he was the son of the late Lawrence T. and Mary E. (Collins) Thornsbury. Mr. Thornsbury served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a truck driver and welder for Gold Seal Tank Company. He enjoyed gardening and saltwater fishing.
Survivors include two daughters:=, Beth L. Motta and her husband James of Tiverton, and Diane C. Trabert and her husband Charles of Tiverton; two brothers, Jackie Thornsbury of Little Compton and Ronnie Thornsbury of Tiverton; a granddaughter, Shae C. Trabert, whom he cherished; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late: Luther Thornsbury, Donald Thornsbury, Kelly Thornsbury, Joy Francis, Janis Roberts, Claris Manchester and Carol Silvia.
Graveside service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Saturday, July 29, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Beacon Hospice, 1130 Ten Rod Rd., Suite C104, N. Kingstown, RI 02852.
