Robert G. Simonin, 64, of Westport passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was the former husband of Donna (Carpenter) Simonin of West Virginia.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph N. and Helen B. (Saucier) Simonin, he was a lifelong resident of Westport.

Mr. Simonin had worked as a carpenter for various area contractors. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his former wife, survivors include one son, Jerry L. Simonin of West Virginia; three daughters, Carrie Simonin, Melissa Rhinehart and Christine Simonin, all of Missouri; four brothers, Norman R. Simonin, William R. Simonin, Richard S. Simonin, all of Westport, and Dave Buzzad of West Virginia; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Jerry K. Simonin and David W. Simonin Sr.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, Westport.
