Richard DeBlois, 73, of Warren, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was son of the late Norman and Lillian (Perron) DeBlois and the beloved husband of the late Bernadette (St John) DeBlois.
A 1957 graduate of Warren High School, he was a 2010 inductee into the Warren Athletic Hall of Fame. Richard was employed by Blount Marine as an electrician for 21 years, and he also worked for Laidlaw as a bus driver and trainer for many years. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and enjoyed western movies.
He was the loving father of Richard and Laurie DeBlois, Suzanne McCarthy, and Norman, Daniel and Karen DeBlois. He leaves five grandchildren and a great-grandson, and was a brother of David DeBlois and the late Geraldine DeBlois and Jane Mary Curria. He also leaves his sister-in-law Geraldine Shallcross, niece Pamela St. John and his cousin, Paula Deslauriers.
Arrangements were with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, with a service Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
