Residential manager named to ‘30 Under 30’

Residential Properties sales manager Ian Barnacle has been announced as a member of Realtor magazine’s “30 under 30” Class of 2013. He will be featured in the upcoming May/June 2013 issue of the magazine, as well as the “30 Under 30” program, which can be found online at http://realtormag.realtor.org/30under30.

Beginning his real estate career in 2007, the third-generation realtor started out as an intern with Residential before quickly rising to become the sales manager for the company’s Barrington branch. “I began a career in real estate sales because I saw the opportunity to provide a new perspective to an established model in a town that I know and love,” he said.

During the application process, Mr. Barnacle took the additional step of filming a video application to help distinguish himself among the hundreds of qualified candidates. He was one of just over 50 Realtors to create a video application, which can be found on the magazine’s official YouTube channel.

Each spring, Realtor magazine highlights a group of 30 up-and-coming members of the real estate industry below the age of 30. This year, the magazine’s staff sifted through close to 400 applications, searching for successful Realtors who have demonstrated skill, creativity, and leadership during their careers to whittle the pool down to a group of 50 finalists.

The selection process was then left up to the readers, who were given the opportunity to vote their favorites in the Web Choice competition held in late March. When the voting process was complete, Mr. Barnacle emerged with enough votes to be selected as a member of the “30 Under 30” Class of 2013.

For more information regarding Mr. Barnacle and the rest of the honorees, visit the “30 Under 30” program page on May 15.
