Preparations begin for May 7 Westport Town Meeting

Posted
To the editor: Westport’s Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at Westport High School. This year a Special Town Meeting will be embedded within the Annual Town Meeting. The warrants for both meetings are posted on the Westport Town Meeting website http://www.westporttownmeeting.com/. As always, anyone with a strong interest in any of the matters before the meeting is welcome to make a 10 minute presentation either in favor of or opposed to any issue provided the presentation is arranged in advance and is supported by either written or projected visual aids. If you want to make a presentation, please contact me at sfors@westportchiro.com or 508 496-8978 to arrange details. On Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. I will be hosting a television show on Westport Cable Access channel 15 in which we will briefly review each of the articles on the warrants. This is meant to be a presentation of basic facts, not an in-depth debate of the issues. Anyone interested in presenting basic facts either in favor of or opposed to any issue on the warrant is welcome to participate. If interested, please contact me at sfors@westportchiro.com or 508 496-8978. The show will replay several times between April 24 and the Town Meetings on May 7. I hope Town Meeting voters will watch and find it useful. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Steven Fors, D.C. Westport Moderator
