Portsmouth Police: Rabid animals reported around town


Sunday, Oct. 28

Richard E. Sullivan, 51, of 24 Child St., Portsmouth, was charged with heroin possession. Police were called to that address by rescuers who were called there to assist another man who was not breathing.

Monday, Oct. 29

Elizabeth M. Peper, 59, of 95 Seaconnet Blvd., Portsmouth, was charged with domestic assault after a dispute with her husband.

Wednesday, Oct. 31

Gary A. Medeiros, 53, of 85 Middle Road, Portsmouth, was charged with drunk driving and refusing a chemical breath test after he was stopped for speeding on East Main Road south at 11:34 p.m.

A Middle Road resident was awakened at 12:57 a.m. to loud banging at the door. He opened it to find a man with gorilla mask and sweatshirt who said "Trick or treat." He was gone by the time police arrived.

Police have answered numerous calls about rabid skunks and raccoons this week. Locations include Cedar Avenue, Flanagan Road, Linden Lane and Wapping Road.

Thursday, Nov. 1

Daniel P. Woods, 48, of 1266 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, was charged with vandalism after allegedly punching out a vehicle window at 6:12 p.m.

Kasey L. Harke, 24, of 127 Bayview Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Saturday, Nov. 3

Matthew N. Dame, 23, of 760 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, was charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct at 1:25 a.m. after he was accused of attacking his roommates and throwing apples and rocks in the apartment.

Sunday, Nov. 4

Daniel P. O'Donoghue, 21, of Medford, Mass., was charged at 10:31 p.m. with disorderly conduct, vandalism and marijuana possession after police went to the Bay Point Roger Williams University dorms for a report that a resident had kicked and punched a vehicle.
