PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Fire Department hosted an open house to the public on Saturday.
The event featured tours of the fire station, firefighter demonstrations, safety talks, helmets for the children and more. Kids even got a chance to hop into the ambulances and fire trucks and try their hand at using the water hose. The event was the culmination of National Fire Prevention Week, from Oct. 7 to 13.
