Photos: East Bay braves cold to sled and shovel


Despite a whipping-frigid wind and a temperature that refused to break 18 degrees, sledders braved area sledding spots, Silver Spring Golf Course, Potato Hill and Hathaway School to enjoy the fresh snow. Others broke out their snow blowers, plows and shovels to clear their driveways. One new homeowner in Little Compton looked outside at his new driveway and got a surprise when his neighbors were clearing his drive.
