Peter F. Duarte, 63, Bristol


Peter F. Duarte, 63, of Wood Street passed away on Oct. 11, 2013.

He was the son of the late Frank and Clara (Perry) Duarte and the cousin of Lavinia “Lee” Perry, Celeste Mulrooney and John Perry.

Peter attended Bristol schools and was employed as a welder at Blount Marine for 43 years.

His funeral services were held Oct. 17 from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth Church. The offertory gifts were presented by Lavinia Pinto and John Pinto. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bob McCauley and Jack McCauley.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
