Patricia Victor, 92, Warren


Patricia J. (Deverich) Victor, 92, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013. She was the wife of the late Bernard Victor and daughter of the late Maurice and Beatrice (Minster) Deverich.

Patricia was a secretary for many years before retiring. She enjoyed painting, sewing and music, as well as spending time with family and friends.

She was the mother of Joan B. Karter of Warren, and Claire Victor and her husband Thomas Carnase of Palm Springs, CA. She was also the half-sister of Jay W. Deverich of Irvine, CA.

Funeral services were private. Donations may be made in her memory to the Barrington Public Library, 281 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806. See

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
