Patricia A. Mahler, East Providence

Patricia A. Mahler, 70, of East Providence, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 from ovarian cancer.

Ms. Mahler was the beloved mother of Christine (Gormley) Tavares, of Pawtucket, and Kevin J. Gormley, of Gaithersburg, Md, the cherished grandmother of three amazing grandsons, Jackson, Arden and Elliot. Survivors also include her siblings, Karen M. Menezes,  Jeanie C. Furlan, Terrie M. Proto and Jeffrey Mahler, a large extended family, and her special dog Buddy. She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Arthur Y. and Ann M. (Quaremba Erler) Mahler.

Ms. Mahler was known for her love of God, family, music, interior design, and gardening. She was a devoted member of All Saints Anglican Church and founder of its endowment fund, a dedicated participant in the Chorus of East Providence, a leader in the Rhode Island Women’s Network, a business owner of Home and Comfort Interiors, and an ambassador with The United (Attleboro) Chamber of Commerce. After being diagnosed with cancer, she became a Mary Kay representative.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main Street, Attleboro, Mass. At the request of Pat attire other than black is preferred.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the All Saints Anglican Church Endowment Fund (send to address above).
