Mt. Hope High School star senior gymnastics performers Meghan Alegria Oliver, Jayme Foreman and Kaitlin Quinn came back home to Bristol from the Senior Nationals in Ft. Meyers, Fla. last weekend with much to be proud of.

All three had a great finish to their high school gymnastics careers. Meghan, in particular, was simply outstanding, finishing in a tie for sixth place out of 15 finalists on vault at the event finals on Saturday.

During the team competition on Friday, Meghan came in ninth on vault and qualified for event finals the following day. She came in 21st overall, with a 34.225, and 25th on floor with a 9.1. There were 110 competitors from across the country in this meet. Despite an ankle injury, Jayme competed all-around and finished in the middle of the pack, with a 29.875. Katie came in 21st on floor with a 9.15 and also landed in the middle of the group for all-around with a 31.125 in 41st place. 

Needless to say, Mt. Hope head coach Nicole Daniello was ecstatic with the local girls’ performances.

“I was so proud of all three girls, finishing on such a high note, competing at the national level,” she noted. “Their beam and floor routines were beautiful and they nailed their vaults. I’m really going to miss their consistency and determination to be their best. Their perseverance is unmatched. I could always count on all three to give their very best at each and every meet and model the qualities of a stellar leader.”
