North Tiverton water flushing starts Oct. 1

Posted

TIVERTON — The North Tiverton Fire District has announced that next week North Tiverton water customers will start to experience the effects of hydrant flushing.

On Oct. 1 the Fire District will begin flushing hydrants. The process will last approximately one month, and water may be a little discolored during and after flushing, the district announced.

"If you experience this problem," the district said, "residents should run faucets until the water clears. Flushing will be performed at night and water pressure may be low at that time. Please try to keep water usage to a minimum after 9 p.m."

If customers have any questions, they should call the North Tiverton Fire District, at 624-8432.
