Meeting set to address Noquochoke questions

Posted

The Westport Affordable Housing Trust Fund and the Housing Partnership Committee  invite the public to attend a community meeting about a future 50-unit affordable housing development known as Noquochoke Village.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in the Alice Macomber Primary School 154 Gifford Road, Westport.

The Board of Selectmen signed the purchase and sale agreement for the development of Noquochoke Village on June 2. The Community Builders, the selected developer, has yet to secure financing for the project and obtain various approvals at the local and state levels.

The Housing Partnership Committee, the Trust and The Community Builders will be prepared to address questions.

RSVP is encouraged but not mandatory to assure that there are enough refreshment and handouts. RSVP at: leonardi@larayarchitects.com

We look forward to seeing you at the Macomber Primary School.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
