Mary Rita Kinsella, 93, Bristol

Mary Rita (Lewis) Kinsella, 93, of Hope Street, passed away on April 6, 2017 at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Richard Edward Kinsella.  

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Murnane) Lewis. She was the mother of Mary Julia Kareckas and the late Richard Kinsella Jr.; grandmother of Thomas Kareckas Jr., and Richard L. Kinsella; and great grandmother of Hannah Kareckas, Mary Kareckas, Spencer Karackes, Farah Kinsella and Richard M. Kinsella. She was the sister of Anna Bruno and the late Betty Adams and Kate Glascom.

Mrs. Kinsella was educated in Providence and worked in the jewelry industry.
Her funeral services were held May 1 in the Chapel at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Cranston.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
