Mary Perry, 86, Westport

Mary (Antunes) Perry, 86, of Westport died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven.  She was the wife of the late Antone Perry.
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria J. (Roza) Antunes, she was a lifelong resident of Westport.  Prior to retirement in 1988, she was a textile worker in various shops in the area.  A communicant of St. George Church, Westport, she was also a member of the St. George Womans Guild and the I.L.G.W.U.  Mrs. Perry enjoyed bowling, traveling and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter,  Kathleen A. Archer of Westport; a brother, Antone Antunes of Westport; four sisters, Emilia Andrade of Westport, Maria Dubois of New Bedford, Delolinda Cangiano of Westport and Adeline Morris of Bristol, RI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alice Moore and Rose Manchester.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
