Mary C. Motta, 90, of Tampa, Florida


Mary C. Motta,  90, of Tampa, Florida and formerly of Bristol passed away on February 2, 2013. She was the wife of the late Manuel Motta who passed away in 2005.

She is survived by four sons, Robert ( Jean) of Bristol, Manuel E. ( Linda) and Roger both of Warner Robins, Georgia, Raymond of Florida, and two daughters, Jane Mello (Charles) and Mary Jean Motta both of Florida. She is also survived by five grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a brother, John Camara of Bristol.

She lived in Bristol for many years before moving to Florida many years ago.

Funeral arrangements and services were held in Florida.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
