Marie-Vivian G. Ping, 76, of Tiverton, formerly of Westport


Marie-Vivian G. (Bergeron) Ping, 76, of Westport, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at Sakonnet Bay Manor in Tiverton. She was the wife of the late Herman R. Ping.

The daughter of the late Roland G. and Blanche (Gagnon) Bergeron, she was born in New Bedford. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a housekeeper for the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.  Mrs. Ping enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Barry R. Ping and his wife Karen of Acushnet; her two daughters, Darlene A. Fernandes and her husband Rick of Westport, and Laureen M. Dolbec and her husband Wil of Westport; two grandsons, Richard and his companion Rachael, and Jeffrey and his wife Lorie-Lyn; cousins Rochelle and Ronald Cox; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, Westport.
