Marie Amaral, 96, of Bristol

Marie (Cruz) Amaral, 96, passed away on Jan. 18, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Cruz, Sr. and Gertrude (Barbosa) Cruz. She was the beloved wife of the late Joaquin “Jack” Amaral.

 

Marie is survived by her children, Linda Nielsen and Paul Mello and his wife Ria, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Anne Pacheco. Marie was predeceased by her first husband, Augustine Mello, and by her siblings, Beatrice Sousa, Joseph Cruz, Jr. and Margaret Sousa.

 

Funeral services are from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St, Bristol, on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday morning only from 9 to 10 a.m.
