Maria Ilda (Medeiros-Furtado) Noia, 95, of Roma Street passed away on December 30th at Cape Cod Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Alfred Ribeiro Noia.

Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria do Esperito Santo (Mello) Furtado.   She was employed as a seamstress at Smith Manufacturing, I Shalom and Premium Thread before retiring.

She is survived by her daughter Aura Cabana of Chatham, Mass.; grandsons Marc Cabana and Jason Cabana; great grandchildren Jacob, Macey and Maggie and brother Daniel Furtado.  She was the sister of the late Joao Furtado, Jose Furtado, Antonio Furtado, Jaime Furtado and Joao Furtado II.

Her funeral services were held January 3rd from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth Church.  Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Marc Cabana, Jason Cabana, Jacob Cabana, Carl Furtado, John Furtado and Jimmy Furtado.
