Manuel Reñasco Jr., 87, Little Compton


Manuel Reñasco, Jr., 87, of West Main Road , Little Compton, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Clare (Burke) Reñasco. They had been married for 66 years.

Born in New York City, NY, a son of the late Manuel and Dorothy (Schaefer) Reñasco, he had lived in Little Compton for the past 37 years.

Mr. Reñasco was a structural engineer and owner of Reñasco Associates of Little Compton. He was the Little Compton building inspector for many years.

He received his bachelor's degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and was the recipient of two master's degrees, one from Brown University and the other from the University of Rhode Island. He also was a graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

He was a member of the Sakonnet Golf Club, the PG Club, the Warren Point's Beach Club and the University Club.

Mr. Reñasco was a retired colonel in the United States Air Force, where he served for over 30 years. Part of his career in the Air Force included being stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in the Intelligence Unit.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Linda C. Cadigan of DeSoto, Tex.; his sister, Dorothy Ocón of Victor, NY; his loving granddaughters, Jennifer and Kerrith, and his beloved great granddaughter, Delilah; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Manny's caregivers, Mabel and Lisa Fleming, and David Ramos, RN.

His Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, Dec. 1, in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. Burial was in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
